Northumberland Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association Review of 2018

Our Presidents says…

Hi, I’m Mike Ewart and I’ve been President of Northumberland Widows Sons now for four years. I’d like to say a big thank you on behalf of Northumberland Widows Sons for the generosity of the lodges and brethren across the Province who so kindly support us. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.

So what do we do?  It’s been a fantastic year and possibly our busiest ever.

From our Annual Easter Egg Run supporting hospitals, special educational needs schools and our own Scarborough Court to helping veterans charities such as Help For Heroes and giving Christmas gifts to homeless veterans, it’s been a very rewarding year. Nationally, Widows Sons Chapters have raised almost £60,000 for good causes and charities.

It’s not just all about raising funds for charities either – we’ve had FUN at our social events including BBQs, Ride & Dines and attending lodge meetings as well as visiting other Widows Sons in Ireland, Holland and Scotland.

Locally, we’ve  brought four new members into freemasonry and nationally 44 members. We’ve also made W.Bro Brian Denton and W.Bro Malcolm Burns honorary members in 2018 in recognition of their support to our association. Our membership currently stands at 42. We’ve also supported the Heritage Open Days at Cramlington Masonic Hall and we’ve been invited back in 2019. If any lodges have any events that they would like us to attend please get in touch.

In 2019 we will celebrate our 15th anniversary and plans are in place already for the national rally.

I’d like to thank everyone who has attended our events, donated to our charity fund, had an interest in what we do and also to the members for making my life easier!
